Can you ship your trees
Unfortunately, No. Because we use real materials in the making of our trees, they would require significant packaging to transport which would not be cost effective. However, depending on the order size, we may be able to deliver within a reasonable distance. Contact us for specifics.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes. Any purchase of 10 or more packages of Hobby Loads products will earn a 10% discount on the entire order. For trees, any order of 100 or more trees is considered a bulk order and will receive reduced pricing.
Can you make special loads for unique or discontinued cars?
YES. Since we make our loads by hand, we can specially craft loads for unique cars, tenders, brass etc. In fact, we love a challenge so contact us with your special request and we’ll gladly discuss options and pricing.
How Do I Maintain My Coal Loads?
Our coal loads are made from real anthracite coal and may require periodic maintenance from time to time to keep them looking brand new. Simply using a soft paint brush or airbrush is a great way to remove surface dirt and dust that typically collects from open layout storage. If you accidentally drop or chip your load you may notice a white powdery substance appear on the damaged area, this is normal. The powder is sulphate or phosphate that surfaces from inside the coal. Quick fix: clean the surface area of dirt and dust, then apply a light coat of flat black spray paint to the entire load surface. Once dry, follow with a light coat of gloss black spray paint to give the coal that unique sparkle. Only light coats are needed to re-seal the load and make it look brand new.
